I was very happy to find this site on the Internet.
   I did my first ten-day intensive retreat in 1979. Since then I've probably done about another 100 ten-day or longer retreats. For the last ten years I've been using the folding yoga bench. I've found that over the years, as my body adjusts to the cross-legged position, that I'm using the bench less and less, but when I need it, it has saved my ass, as well as my knees, hips, and back. Often I use the bench when I'm sleepy. I find that the bench forces me to sit bolt-upright, thus making it harder, almost impossible, to lean forward into sleep. Before the folding yoga bench came along, I used crude benches that didn't tilt to fit my spine. Ouch! On a few retreats I simply put a board between two cans and sat on that. Yuck! How do you spell discomfort?
   These days, as I'm pushing 60, I'm constantly urging people to try meditation. With the folding yoga bench, that is now being offered at a price that everyone can afford, people have one less excuse for not meditating. Now no one can say, “I can't do it because I can't sit cross-legged.”

I did my first 10-day retreat in February 2009 and won't exaggerate in saying that without the folding bench it wouldn't have been so pleasant and successful. Thanks to it that unbearable pain in the legs, especially in the knees that most meditators are familiar with didn't bother me much. The bench also helps the back to remain straight all the time which is nice. I easily slipped it into my backpack - it didn't take up too much space. It's not heavy, which is another advantage. Well, it's perfect.

Я сделала мой первый ретрит в феврале 2009 и с уверенностью могу сказать, что без складывающейся скамейки он бы не был таким приятным и успешным. Благодаря скамеечке я не мучалась от знакомой всем медитаторам ужасной боли в ногах, особенно в коленях. Моя спина, также благодаря скамеечке, все время оставалась прямой.

Кроме этого, скамейка не занимает много места в рюкзаке и мало весит. Она незаменима во всех отношениях.
